Internal Lime Plastering

Albion Square

29 Albion square is a semi-detached London townhouse thought to have been constructed in the 1840s.

Overview

London
£60k

Before

The house sits within the Albion Square conservation area which was implemented in the 1970’s. It is one of East London’s most complete and attractive garden squares and is protected as a local location of interest and protection. Almost all the buildings (including number 29) are of listed consent locally meaning the aesthetic must remains as it was originally built. All internal alterations/renovations must be carried out in a sensitive and historically accurate manner also.

After

JE Putney and Sons were awarded the contract to carry out the internal lime plastering repairs throughout the entire dwelling. Many ceilings through the building were stripped back to the original timber joists where new oak riven laths were fixed. A 3 coat non-hydraulic haired lime plaster was then applied. This process was repeated on most internal partition walls within the house along with extensive repairs and replastering works to the masonry walls.
